Eydhafushi

Why visit Eydhafushi?

Eydhafushi is an island in South Maalhosmadulu, Maldives. With a population of approximately 3000, it is known as capital of Baa Atoll, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The local community traditionally relies on fishing, with tourism growing rapidly since the government opened local islands to visitors in the 2010s. The Island has embraced guesthouse tourism, and today visitors can experience authentic Maldivian island life alongside comfortable tourist facilities.

The climate is tropical with year-round warm temperatures (28–32°C). The dry northeast monsoon (December–April) brings the best weather; the wet southwest monsoon (May–November) brings more rain but also lush vegetation, better surf conditions, and fewer crowds. The Island is compact enough to explore on foot, with most facilities clustered around the harbour area.
