Ayer Keroh is a suburban area and the main exit town for Malacca City from the North-South Expressway, about 15 km north of the historic core. It is the gateway to Malacca for most visitors arriving by road. The area is known for its recreational parks, the Malacca Zoo, and several tourist attractions that have made it a secondary tourism hub.
Ayer Keroh is also the location of the Melaka state government administrative complex (Seri Negeri), the Malacca Mall shopping centre, and numerous hotels catering to business travellers and tourists.

Malacca International Airport (MKZ IATA) is about 5 km from Ayer Keroh.
By Train
No train station.
By Car / Road
Ayer Keroh is exit 240 on the North-South Expressway (E2). From Kuala Lumpur, about 1.5 hours south. From Malacca City centre, about 15 minutes north. Buses from Melaka Sentral pass through Ayer Keroh.
You need a car or Grab to navigate Ayer Keroh's spread-out attractions.
What are the things to do?
Melaka Zoo (Zoo Melaka) — One of Malaysia's oldest zoos, home to over 1,200 animals. Open daily 9AM–6PM. Entry RM15.
Taman Mini Malaysia & ASEAN — A cultural park showcasing traditional houses from each Malaysian state and ASEAN countries. Cultural performances on weekends. Entry RM15.
Melaka Botanical Garden — A large green space with walking trails, a lake, and a canopy walkway. Good for families.
Seri Negeri — The Melaka state government complex, with a distinctive Melaka-Moorish architectural style.
Malacca Crocodile Farm — About 1,000 crocodiles in a natural park setting (10 km from Ayer Keroh).
Wave Park (Taman Ombak) — A water theme park near Ayer Keroh (currently intermittent operation).
