Why visit?

Maryland County is a coastal county in southeastern Liberia, bordering the Atlantic Ocean and Côte d'Ivoire. The capital Harper is a historic port city founded by freed American slaves of the Maryland State Colonization Society in the 19th century. The county has a distinct history within Liberia, originally existing as the independent Republic of Maryland before joining Liberia in 1857. The coastline has beautiful beaches, and the interior is covered in tropical rainforest.

When is the best time to visit?

The dry season (November–April) is best for coastal exploration.
