Why visit?

Lofa County is a large inland county in northern Liberia, bordering Guinea and Sierra Leone. The capital Voinjama is one of Liberia's highest towns, set in the Wologizi Mountains. The county is one of Liberia's most agriculturally productive regions, known for rice, coffee, and cocoa. Lofa has significant forest cover and is the source of several major Liberian rivers. The county was heavily impacted by the civil wars but has been rebuilding.

When is the best time to visit?

The dry season (November–April) is recommended. The rainy season makes mountain roads difficult.
