Pha Oudom
Bokèo, Laos
Why visit Pha Oudom?
Pha Oudom is a district in western Bokeo Province, located between the Mekong River and the Thai border. The area is predominantly agricultural, with rice, rubber, and bananas as main crops. The district capital is a small market village serving local farming communities. Pha Oudom is less visited than Houayxay but offers quiet rural scenery and access to the Mekong River.
The tropical monsoon climate makes the November to February dry season the most comfortable time to visit. The wet season from June to October brings significant rainfall.
