Why visit Oral?
Oral (formerly Uralsk) is a historic city in western Kazakhstan on the Ural River, near the Russian border. Founded in 1584 by Cossacks, it has a distinctive European character with pre-revolutionary architecture. The city is an important cultural centre with a strong Kazakh-Russian heritage and is the birthplace of many Kazakh writers and poets.

Oral Ak Zhol Airport (URA) serves flights from Astana, Almaty, and Russian cities. Taxi to centre approximately 1,500 KZT.
By Train
Oral railway station connects to Astana, Atyrau, and Samara (Russia). Regular trains, book via railways.kz.
By Car / Road
Located on the Kazakhstan-Russia border at the junction of major highways. Buses from Atyrau and Aktobe.

Where to drink?
