Al-Musayyib
Bābil, Iraq
Why visit Al-Musayyib?
Al-Musayyib (Arabic: المسيب) is a city in northern Bābil Governorate, central Iraq, on the east bank of the Euphrates River about 40 km south of Baghdad. It is a significant market centre for the surrounding agricultural region, known for date palms, fruits, and grains. The town's population includes both Shia and Sunni communities, and it has been a crossroads of trade and travel between Baghdad and the southern holy cities. Summers are extreme (45°C+), winters mild. The best months to visit are November–March.
