Taft is a city in Yazd Province, located about 20 km southwest of Yazd city in a valley of the Shir Kuh mountain range. Its higher elevation gives it a milder climate, making it a popular summer retreat. Taft is known for its pomegranate orchards and as a centre of Zoroastrian pilgrimage.

Yazd Airport (AZD) is about 30 km northeast.

By Train

Yazd railway station is the nearest connection.

By Car / Road

A short drive from Yazd via the Taft road. Shared taxis and buses from Yazd (30 min).

  • Shir Kuh Mountain — A popular hiking destination with views.
  • Chak Chak — The most important Zoroastrian pilgrimage site, a fire temple in a cliff face, about 40 km northwest.
  • Taft Pomegranate Orchards — The valley is filled with pomegranate trees.
