Nzerekore is a region in south-eastern Guinea, bordering Liberia and Cote d'Ivoire. The capital is Nzerekore, Guinea's third-largest city. The region is covered in dense rainforest and is home to the Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ziama Massif Biosphere Reserve is another important protected area. The region is the homeland of the Kpelle, Loma, and other forest peoples.
When to Visit
November to April is the dry season. May to October is very rainy, as the region receives some of the highest rainfall in West Africa.
