When to Visit
The best time to visit Sololá is during the dry season from November to April, when conditions are most favourable for outdoor exploration and travel between towns. The rainy season (May to October) brings lush greenery but can make some rural roads difficult to navigate. Local festivals and holidays may also influence the best timing for a visit. Guatemala's highland departments enjoy a temperate climate year-round, while lowland areas tend to be warmer and more humid.

WhatsAppGetting Around
Getting around Sololá is possible by a combination of local buses, microbuses, and tuk-tuks. The road network connects the main towns, and major routes are generally passable year-round. Chicken buses (repainted US school buses) are the most common form of public transport. Within towns, tuk-tuks and walking are common ways to get around. Distances between major centres are manageable, though travel times can vary depending on road conditions, particularly during the rainy season.
