About Abala
Abala is a small agricultural village in central Plateaux department, located on the Batéké Plateau approximately 50 km north-east of Djambala. The village consists of a cluster of traditional mud-brick houses surrounded by cassava fields, maize plots, and open savanna. The population is small and lives by subsistence farming and small-scale livestock keeping (goats and chickens).
The climate is tropical with a dry season from June to September and a rainy season from October to May. The unpaved access road is passable in the dry season but becomes difficult after heavy rain. Temperatures range from 20°C to 34°C (68–93°F).
