About Boundji

Boundji is a small town on the RN2 highway in central Cuvette department, approximately 120 km south of Owando and 40 km north of Oyo. It is a roadside market centre serving the surrounding agricultural region, with a small market, basic shops, and a handful of eateries lining the highway. The landscape around the town is a mix of farmland, secondary forest, and patches of savanna.

The climate is tropical with a dry season (June–September) and a wet season (October–May). Temperatures range from 24°C to 32°C (75–90°F).

How to reach

By Plane

Nearest air access: Owando Airport (120 km north), with irregular charter flights from Brazzaville.

By Train

No railway access.

By Car / Road

Boundji is on the paved RN2 highway, 120 km south of Owando (2.5 hours) and 40 km north of Oyo (45 minutes). Shared taxis and buses on the Brazzaville–Owando route pass through regularly.

The town is compact and walkable, oriented along the main highway.
