Mohéli

Mohéli is a island of Comoros. The smallest Comorian island with pristine beaches and Mohéli National Park. Ideal for nature lovers and those seeking solitude.

May–October for drier weather; November–April is wetter and hotter.

Local "taxis" (shared minibuses) run from Fomboni's market to most other towns, but service outside the capital is sparse and unreliable, and infrastructure is still recovering from cyclone damage that has left some inter-village roads in poor condition. Hitchhiking is common and considered safe, though traffic is light.

Fresh fish grilled or in coconut curries with rice is a staple, alongside Comoros's well-known vanilla, ylang-ylang-scented honey, and tropical fruit.

The most traditional Comorian island. Islam shapes daily life. The grand mariage (traditional wedding) is the most important social event with days of celebration.
