Notable Experiences

  • Visiting the border region with Sudan.
  • Traditional Zaghawa villages.

The province's remote location and limited infrastructure make it suitable only for self-sufficient travellers with a 4×4 vehicle. Security conditions should be verified before travel.

Travel infrastructure is minimal, with limited accommodation and fuel availability. Visitors should carry all necessary supplies from Abeche. The Zaghawa people dominate the region and have maintained close cross-border ties with communities in Sudan's Darfur region.
