Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary

Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected wildlife sanctuary in Rotanak Kiri, Cambodia. It provides critical habitat for endangered species including Asian elephants, banteng, gaur, leopard cats, and numerous bird species. The sanctuary is part of Cambodia's commitment to biodiversity conservation in the Greater Mekong region.

The dry season (November–April) offers the best conditions for wildlife viewing. The sanctuary is managed by the Ministry of Environment in partnership with conservation organisations.

By Plane

The nearest international airport is Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH), 4–6 hours by road.

By Car / Road

Access is by 4WD vehicle via national and provincial roads. A permit from the Ministry of Environment or local ranger station is required. Guided tours from conservation organisations may include transport.

Walking with a ranger guide is the norm. Some sanctuaries have vehicle tracks for patrol vehicles. Always travel with an authorised guide.
