Bugarama

Bugarama is a commune in Rumonge Province, Burundi, located in the central highlands at approximately 1,700 m elevation. It is a small agricultural settlement surrounded by terraced hills planted with coffee, bananas, and beans.

The climate is mild year-round. The best time to visit is during the dry season from June to August.

Bugarama is accessible by road from the provincial capital. Motorcycle taxis and minibuses connect to the main road network.

Bugarama is compact and walkable. Motorcycle taxis are available for short trips.

Basic food stalls serve beans, rice, grilled bananas, and occasionally grilled meat. A meal costs FBu 2,000–4,000.

Bugarama has no formal hotels. Basic guesthouse accommodation may be available; otherwise the nearest lodging is in the provincial capital.
