Good to Know

Visa-free for Indians

Uzbekistan is visa-free for Indian passport holders — verify the current rule about a month before travel with the Uzbek MFA.

The trains are the plan

Afrosiyob business class covers the intercity legs in comfort with meals, and the overnight Kupe sleeper turns the Bukhara-Tashkent hop into a night's sleep.

Book trains 60 days ahead

Afrosiyob and the sleeper open on tickets.uz about 60 days out (late July here) and sell out — reserve as soon as the window opens.

When to go

Late September can still hit 30-38°C mid-loop, so hydrate, carry a hat and take midday hotel breaks; the October return day is noticeably cooler.

No jet lag

Uzbekistan shares India's time offset closely, so the family arrives and returns without the disruption of a large time change.
